so I'm going on my first real date ever on friday. But he asked what I wanted to do and I'm not sure. I know I don't want to go see a movie. I"m suggesting dinner and bowling because those are both pretty low key and allow for converstation. However I am taking suggestions. I'm nervous! I've never had a real date and iI am leaving my son with grandma so yea just thought I"d share and any good dating tips would be helpful

Bowling is fun. Mini-golf works too. I suggest anything cheap that is an activity! See, I can talk about mini-golf. "This look like a hard shot..." or "Nice shot!" or a number of other things that go with mini-golf, or bowling. But with dinner, you can talk about what you're going to order, and then how it is when you get it... and that's it. The other two, I could commentate the entire thing and never have to tell you anything real, but still have a great time.

Now, if I'm bowling, I don't HAVE to talk about bowling. I can have an engaging conversation too. But I always have bowling to fall back on. Dinner, I can only talk about the meal so many times until you fall asleep. So for a first date, I think you made a good choice! First dates are tough. It's when it continues forever without talking about anything real that is a bad thing.

Good luck!

Have fun
What you do depends on what you want to get out of it. A movie would be good if you don't want to talk and would rather do other things, since you'll spend most of the time in the dark staring at the wall. Bowling, on the other hand, gives you time to talk whlie doing something. As would golf, a museum, zoo, etc. Participating in a sporting event (for example, there is an indoor beach volleyball place near here) could be fun, but it wouldn't give you much time to talk since your busy playing.
In the end, you'll have to decide what your looking to get out of it and pick activities that work well with what you want.

Thanks guys I think I'm gonna stick with bowling since it's an activity I don't mind loosing but will still have fun doing It's too cold and snowy here to do anything outdoors yet. So hopefully it all works out I thought of the whole movie thing but I'd rather do something more fun lol I can watch a movie anytime.

Roller skating!! It puts you BOTH off balance.

I was going to suggest a short hike/walk-type thing. I think a physical activity adds to the whole affair, plus being out in the woods or wherever gives you a bit more privacy. Its tougher in the winter, but something like ice skating or cross-country skiing is always fun. Work up an appetite then go somewhere fun for dinner.

Wherever you end up, hope you have a good time.
