Hi, this might seem like a dumb question, but, What is trolling? And what is the purpose? and how can someone troll on their own blog?
Thanks

It's a matter of opinion.

"In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who comes into an established community such as an online discussion forum, and posts inflammatory, rude or offensive messages designed intentionally to annoy and antagonize the existing members or disrupt the flow of discussion. (Link)"

In my opinion you can't troll your own blog. To some people, anyone that calls names or posts insulting comments that don't directly address the topic whether it is their blog or not, which makes basically everyone here a troll at one time or another.

To me a troll is someone who hangs out specifically for the purpose of annoyance through atrition. I considered dabe to be a troll, given the average post was just a one-liner referencing the intelligence of the blogger laced with profanity.

IMHO, we really don't have any trolls around here right now, at least none that have accounts. You see trolls post as anonymous users a lot, though; I'm sure you've seen them.

I have seen Rombios leave trolling posts, but he has a perspective, however inane, on your Zarqawi blog, lw. Unless you think he's just posting wacky conspiracy theories just to be disruptive, that is.

I concur.  But then we all can be trolls on certain occassions.  Every once in awhile, it is fun to be one.

hm... umm.. ok. lol so a troll is someone who posts annonymously (sp?) just to cause trouble?

I don't think that you can troll on your own blog then. That doesn't make sense.
